Waiting For Godot at Smock Alley Theatre 23 July - 10 August 2019

It was like stepping back in time to photograph Samuel Beckett’s Waiting For Godot, directed by Patrick Sutton at Smock Alley Theatre this week. This was mainly down to the fact that I’d photographed the same show in the exact same space in 2015, just when I was starting out as Smock’s in house photographer. I really loved working there. Every week there was a new and interesting production coming in, and each show had a freshness and originality that made them so engaging to photograph. I think I’d just bought myself a Canon 70D then, which felt like the holy grail of digital cameras for me back then. The gear I have now is a bit of a step up from what I had then, but running around and shooting what is quite a difficult show to cover, still felt the exact same. It’s not easy, but it’s another reminder why I love to do what I do and why I got into this in the first place. It was handy having two class actors in Charlie and Donal to shoot for over two hours, as well as Ger Byrne and Rex Ryan of course. It’s a really great show too, so I’d recommend checking it out while the run lasts, for info on booking, check out the link here

The Rivals Videos for Smock Alley Theatre

Some of the videos I made as part of the promotion for Smock Alley's production of Richard Brinsley Sheridan's The Rivals, which continues its run up until September 2nd.
